چکیده
Acousto-optic imaging (AOI) enables optical-contrast deep inside scattering samples via localized ultrasound-modulation of scattered light. While AOI allows optical investigations at depths, its resolution is inherently limited by the ultrasound wavelength, prohibiting microscopic investigations. Here, we propose a computational approach that diffraction-limited using conventional system. We achieve this extracting information from speckle correlations in conventionally detected ultrasound-modulated scattered-light fields. Specifically, identify since “memory-effect” allow estimation Fourier magnitude field focus, scanning focus robust reconstruction extended objects ptychography (i.e., exploit as scanned spatial-gate probe required for ptychographic phase retrieval). Moreover, short decorrelation-time dynamic media, which usually considered hurdle wavefront-shaping- based approaches, improved reconstruction. experimentally demonstrate noninvasive targets extend well beyond memory-effect range, with 40-times improvement over AOI.

Nonlinear effects in acousto-optic imaging.
Acousto-optic (AO) imaging is a promising technique that is able to reveal optical properties in the millimeter range inside scattering media by tagging the photon paths with an ultrasonic beam. To increase both the contrast and the resolution of the AO images, we have explored the possibility of using the nonlinear response of the speckle modulation. Variation of the second-harmonic signal as ...

We introduce and experimentally demonstrate acousto-optic-assisted diffuse optical tomography (DOT) using a holography-based acousto-optic setup. The method is based on probing a scattering medium with a localized acoustical modulation of the phase of the scattered light. The optical properties of the scattering medium are recovered with ultrasound-limited resolution by applying DOT reconstruct...
متن کاملA Guide to Acousto-Optic Modulators
Sound waves travelling through a crystal can be modelled as crests of increased refractive index alternating with troughs of decreased refractive index. Light incident on gradients in refractive index is scattered, therefore the light scatters from the acoustic wavefronts. In an AOM the light scattered from successive wavefronts interferes constructively. Figure 1 shows two rays of light imping...
متن کاملAcousto-optic laser optical feedback imaging.
We present a photon noise and diffraction-limited imaging method combining an imaging laser and ultrasonic waves. The laser optical feedback imaging (LOFI) technique is an ultrasensitive imaging method for imaging objects through or embedded within a scattering medium. However, LOFI performances are dramatically limited by parasitic optical feedback occurring in the experimental setup. In this ...
